Freezing New Bacterial Strains as Glycerol Stocks

- Start by growing a 5 ml culture to mid-log phase.
- In a well-labeled screw capped tube add 500 µl culture to 500 µl 40% glycerol.
- Mix well by inverting the tube about six times or by vortexing.
- Place the tube in the -70 ºC freezer for indefinite storage.
